Theme Requirements

Platform

This theme requires a self-hosted WordPress.org website. DIY Dream Site themes are NOT compatible with websites created on WordPress.com, or other platforms like Squarespace, Showit, Wix, Elementor Beaver Builder, etc.

Image use

The stock images in the demo site were sourced from free stock photo websites including Pexels, Unsplash, and Kaboom Pics. You’ll need to replace ALL the images with your own!

Parent Theme

This theme is a Kadence child theme that uses WordPress Blocks/Gutenberg to build its pages. The FREE Kadence theme is required to be installed on your site for it to work properly.

We highly recommend investing in the Kadence Essentials Bundle to take advantage of all of the features within the theme. You don’t HAVE to have a Kadence Bundle to use this theme, as we do have a few pages styled without the Pro Blocks plugin…but if you want to utilize all of the page designs, the bundle is strongly recommended!

You do not have to shut your current website down or take it offline. To keep your current website live, while customizing your new child theme, I highly recommend requesting a staging site from your hosting provider. I’ll show you how to do this in the tutorials that way you can make all the design and content changes you want without affecting your live website. Once you’ve designed the staging site the way you want it, you’ll be able to push the staging site over to the live site!

Even if you aren’t tech-savvy, you should be able to follow my step-by-step video tutorials and customize the theme easily! Logistics questions

No! In order to use this child theme, you are required to use a self-hosted WordPress.org website along with the free Kadence theme.

If your current website is on another platform (other than WordPress), you’ll start with a fresh self-hosted WordPress website and manually add your old website content into the child theme.

This theme is built with the Kadence Theme so 99% of the time, you can customize this theme without touching a single line of code!

You’ll be able to easily update the fonts, colors, images, and website copy. You can also rearrange sections, swap out different section designs for alternate block designs, and add your own design elements with Kadence Blocks.
